Here are some ideas for outings and fun things for the week of July 22-28:

Calgary has a new free arts event going on all through the city this summer-- Lawn Chair Theatre. It’s family-friendly and free and you can find out where it will be near you by going to


  • Jul 2-Oct 15: Farmers Market @ Triwood Community Association (2244 Chicoutimi Dr NW) 3-7pm. Runs every Tuesday throughout the summer.
  • July 20 - 27: Garden Festival - Free live outdoor concerts, tours, DJ, games, dog pawrades, theater, dancing and much more! Please have a look at the link for what's going on for each day.
  • July 23 (5:00pm-7:00pm): Live at Five with a special preview of Marcus Trummer: At Central Memorial Park - weather dependent.
  • July 24 (6:30pm-7:30pm) World Drum Circle: At Central Memorial Park, decompress with drumming.
  • July 27 (10:00am-4:00pm): Pet-A-Palooza - at Eau Claire Plaza (255 Barclay Parade SW), go check out weiner dog races and over 120 pet-related vendors.



  • July 24 (10:00am & 6:45pm): Harry Potter at Canyon Meadows Cinemas - the theater will screen one out of eight films at the two showtimes. $5
  • July 26 (6:00pm) Black and White Movie Night: Sunset Boulevard - Part of Fort Calgary's black-and-white movie series. Ticket is for admission, food and beverages are available for additional cost (cash or card accepted.) Admission: $15



  • July 24 (1:00pm - 4:00pm): Calgary Job Fair: Looking for a new job? This is the event for you!
